Will My Car Fit? Vehicle & Garage Clearance Calculator

Bought a new car, truck, or SUV? Use this simple calculator to check if your vehicle's height will clear your garage door opening before you get stuck.

Measure the actual height of the opening, from floor to the bottom of the door when fully open.

Check your vehicle's manual or manufacturer website. Include any roof racks.

How to Measure for Vehicle Fit

It’s a common mistake: assuming your new vehicle will fit in the garage, only to find out it’s a few inches too tall. This calculator helps you avoid that expensive and frustrating problem. All you need are two simple measurements: the height of your garage door opening and the total height of your vehicle.

For an accurate result, be sure to measure the true opening height of your garage door—from the floor to the bottom edge of the door itself when it's fully open. For your vehicle, use the official height from the manufacturer and remember to include any aftermarket additions like roof racks or antennas. We recommend a buffer of at least 3 inches for comfortable clearance.

Simply enter both measurements in inches into the calculator. It will instantly tell you if your vehicle will fit, if it will be a tight squeeze, or if it won't clear the opening at all.
